Virtual pilgrimage into the tomb of St. Francis !

Video cameras were installed in the tomb of St. Francis in his Basilica in Assisi.  Cameras operate 24x7 and show activity in the tomb which is also a chapel.  His crypt is behind the altar and is approximately 8 feet off the ground between the two flower arrangements.  Also in the tomb are the remains or "relics" of four of his "Brothers" (Brother Rufino, Brother Angelo, Brother Masseo and Brother Leone) in the four corners behind the iron grates surrounding the altar. 

Please keep in mind that Assisi time is 6 hours ahead of EST in the United States and lighting in the crypt will change according to time of day operations.
