By Fr. James Orr, Pastor of Most Holy Name of Jesus Parish
Saints of God, my brothers and sisters in glory, Apostles, Martyrs, Confessors,
Holy Men and Women of every age,
whose relics are enshrined here:
I come before you and commend
to your intercession all those I love
and, in all humility, myself.
Pray for us always,
that we may live each day
with a burning love and longing for God
whom you see face to face in eternity.
Pray for us that we will always know Jesus
our Savior and Lord, intimately and personally,
and that we will be witnesses to the Glory of God
so that all may be drawn to know, love,
and serve God in this life
and be happy with Him in the Heavenly Kingdom.
As you offer the Heavenly Liturgy with
Jesus Christ, our Eternal High Priest,
I ask you to offer these petitions
(silent pause for petitions) confident that God hears your prayers
and knows what is best for us in His mercy
according to His will.
Looking forward to that great day
when I too join all the heavenly hosts,
I give praise to God: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit,
now and ever and, forever.
Amen.
