Learn about the Saint of the Month for September 2017, St. Jerome
Each month, the chapel celebrates the life and spirit of a specific saint (or blessed) whose feast day falls within that month, and who shares some part in Fr. Mollinger’s vast collection of relics, by commemorating the unique beauty of that saint’s earthly life – his or her ardent embrace of Our Lord's call to holiness as exhibited through heroic faith and virtue – and celebrating the eternal reward of Heaven that has been bestowed on him or her, and all the saints, through the grace and mercy of God the Father.
In doing so, on the first Sunday of each month, beginning at 3 p.m., the chapel hosts Evening Prayer before Christ in the Eucharist. The Blessed Sacrament is exposed in the monstrance at the beginning of evening prayer, and the service concludes with Benediction: Christ imparting His blessing to us in His Eucharistic Presence. Following the service, the faithful who wish to do so will have the opportunity to venerate a relic of the Saint of the Month.
