Emperor Diocletian was enamored by the beauty of this 13-year-old and wanted her as his wife
When she refused he had her scourged however her wounds were attended to by Angels
The emperor then tied an anchor to her and she was thrown into the Tiber River
Angels cut the ropes and raised her to the river bank
The emperor then order her to be shot with arrows
The arrows returned and killed the archers
Finally, the emperor had her beheaded
St. Philomena is known to make loud knocking sounds
The sounds are to gain your attention or to show a sign of appreciation
She died on August 10, 304, at the age of 13
